5 Ways To Finish The Year Strong

It's November 1st and 2019 is officially coming to an end with Christmas and New Years just 8 weeks away. Every new year, there's momentum to do well and become better, but how can we make sure the end of 2019 is the launch pad needed for a better 2020? Here are some tips on how to finish the year well.

1. Write a gratitude list

As human beings we often overlook our achievements and focus on what didn't go so well. Writing a gratitude list of 5 to 10 things that you have achieved, or overcome can help you view the year in a more balanced way and remind you that you're on the right track.

2. Clear out your space

As the saying goes, messy space messy mind. It's amazing how much better you feel when you sit in a place that's clutter free. The end of the year is a great time to take stock of what you have and get rid of what no longer brings you joy. Be it your wardrobe, furniture or your office, clearing space helps us feel clarity and clarity helps us make better decisions.

3. Reassess your goals

Studies show that just 8% of people successfully stick to their new years resolutions. So why bother? While resolutions are often broken, it is worth looking at your 2019 goals and assessing whether they are still things you want or even need. A lot can change in one year and what you wanted in January may not be what you want come December. It's worth revisiting your goals and seeing if they're still in alignment with who you're becoming.

4. Treat Yourself!

You may not have hit all your milestones or ticked every box, but it's still super important to reward yourself for making steps in the right direction. This need not break the bank and could be an afternoon treat, or a new lipstick. Celebrating small wins encourages us to continue doing the right things day by day.

5. Keep going

2019 is not over yet, there's still 8 weeks to go. While we don't advocate, killing yourself to make a years worth of goals happen in two months, doing the right things over time always brings the right results. Your hard work throughout the year has led you to where you are now and consistency definitely pays off over time. So just keep going. :-)

So there you have it! This list is not exhaustive and by all means adapt as you wish. Join the conversation and comment below on what you do to finish the year strong.
