LYL at London Fashion Week!
February was a complete whirlwind for us. We're always keen to seize opportunities and do our best to make things happen, but sometimes the opportunities come sooner than you expect.
We were asked to exhibit our collection at London Fashion Week February 2020 and of course we said YESSSSS!
Saying Yes is exactly what you do, even when you're not quite sure how you'll pull things off. We got into planning mode and committed to putting on an amazing fashion show. Within a matter of days we confirmed a team of models, make up artists, assistants and photographers, that were keen to jump on board and help us make the vision happen.
The result? A phenomenal experience and a warm reception from everyone involved. It's incredible to witness a dream you had in your head, come to life in real-time. It's also emotional when people see and understand what you're doing, the vision of the brand and love what you've created.
In addition to showing you a snippet of what we got up to, we also wanted to share these three important lessons:
1. It's really important to say yes, even when you don't think you're ready. As time goes on, we've realised that being 'ready' is a myth. Often times you're always in a state of preparation and if you ever got ready....it might just end up being too late.
2. Once you commit by saying yes, do EVERYTHING in your power to get READY. Yes, make a plan and absolutely do the work required to put you in the best possible position to succeed. Doing this will ensure that you are more likely to do well at whatever task is at hand.
3. Lastly, enjoy the experience and learn the lessons along the way! If you don't have fun while doing it, then what's the point? Yes it can be challenging, but it should also be exciting. Even if things go wrong (and they sometimes do), see it as a new lesson learned that will make you do and be better next time.
Thanks for reading! Happy New Month ❤.
